Stop the P90-B Philhealth fund transfer; expand benefits for chronic & non-infectious diseases ––NCD patients
September 6, 2024The Healthy Philippines Alliance (HPA), together with SocialWatch Philippines and the Philippine Legislators Committee on Population and Development – Child Rights Network (PLCPD-CRN), strongly supports the adoption of the Pan American Health Organization–World Health Organization (PAHO-WHO) Nutrition Profile Model (NPM) as the standard for implementation in the Philippines. As civil society organizations advocating for public health, child rights, and pro-poor policies, we oppose any attempt to weaken the PAHO model—such as exempting specific food or beverage categories or lowering thresholds for nutrients of concern—as these would compromise its integrity and the broader goal of protecting Filipinos’ right to health and addressing the country’s burden of non-communicable diseases.
